[Closed] General Forum Rules

Following are a list of Rules/Guidelines that govern the use of these boards and will be strictly enforced by the owners/moderators of this forum. Failure to comply with these rules/regulations may result in the Ban of membership, email and IP access status. Please read and follow these rules in order to keep these forums open to the public. Showing blatant disrespect to moderators or staff
The moderators and staff here at TechPB are some of the most respected, most well known, most tolerant and most knowledgeable people in the paintball industry. They are helpful, they are patient, they work hard to make TechPB is a safe place for people seeking information. Arguing with a moderator, sending a moderator threats via PM or email, or anything that can be interpreted as disrespectful towards the TechPB staff is grounds for immediate banning from the website. Being a member of the TechPB community is a privilege, it is not a right. You do not have the "right" to be here, you are in OUR house as OUR guest. Freedom of speech is something you excercise on your OWN website, not on ours. If you come in here disrespecting the moderators or staff, you will earn an immediate IP ban.

Flaming, Bashing, and Trolling
Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Treat others on these message boards as you would expect them to treat you. Talking trash about another user is a quick way to earn a banning, as is posting topics specifically to provoke a negative response from someone (aka trolling). Any threats will constitute a reason for banning.

Personal Information
You may not distribute private messages, instant message logs, e-mail, etc. unless both parties have provided consent.

Buy, Sell, Trade
TechPB is not responsible for any stolen, lost, misrepresented or fraudulent posts or transactions on our website. This includes moderators, staff, employees, advertisers, partners, etc. If you BST on this website, you are responsible for doing the due diligence required to ensure a safe trade. This includes the hiring of a third party service to handle the trade, tracking numbers, proper insurance, etc. All claims of misrepresentation are "civil" in nature, and will need to be handled in your local small claims court. We will provide any supporting information ONCE A POLICE REPORT HAS BEEN FILED, until then, please be careful!

Spam
Purposely spamming a message board with senseless, vacuous, or empty messages to gain more stars is highly frowned upon! This includes such things as party posts, chain letters, two-word "I agree" or "me too" responses, continually posting the same topic will more than likely result in LOSING post counts and/or bans. The practice of "Rick Rolling" will result in a consequence that is determined necessary. The posting of false and/or misleading links is grounds for suspension and depending on the content of the pages the misleading link goes to, a ban.

Impersonating Other Users / Accessing Another User's Account
You may not impersonate another board member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, accessing or using someone else's account or attempting to access another poster's account is strictly prohibited.

News Section
Contests are not news. If a company is having a contest, they can post it in their own section of the forum, or in Paintball Chatter. The news section is meant for the latest news within the paintball industry, a contest / giveaway does not qualify as news.

Signatures
Please be aware that Signatures are under the same rules as regular posts. Attacking people in a Signature is also against the rules. No Adult Content. Images used in signatures are to be less then Width of 600px, and height of 160px. Only ONE image is allowed in the signature, and it must be 50k or less for members, 75k or less for Player's Club members and Mods. Only 5 lines of text are allowed (blank lines count). No text larger then size 3 is allowed in the signature.

Posting Huge Images / Fake Signature Pics
Out of respect for your 56k brethren, please let them know if your thread contains a number of large images. A simple **56kers Beware!** in the subject line will go a long way in helping those who are broadband-challenged know not to open a thread that might bring their web browsing to a crawl. Also if you must use signature pictures, please limit it to one 30k or less image since huge pictures slow down the boards.

Circumventing a Ban (aka Evading)
If you log onto the Boards and receive a message that you have been banned, please submit an unban request and wait for a Board moderator to get in touch with you. It is not acceptable to return to the boards under another username. If you do, your ban time most likely will be extended. You may not publicly complain about or demand a reason for another user's ban. Banned users have the responsibility of answering for themselves on their own. If you have an issue with a Ban, please PM a Moderator or the Forum Owner.

Profanity
Profanity is allowed on this forum, but do not abuse this privilege. Remember, this is a privately run website, if you go out of bounds, you will be told. If you think it's to offensive, it is. Racial slurs are grounds for instant bans.

Money Making Schemes
Links to pyramid schemes, Money making schemes, or questionable 'Profit-per-Click' advertising sites are not allowed. Likewise, charity, donation, solicitation and begging threads posted by users are not allowed. Threads will be closed, and users may be banned.

Moderation
You may not re-edit a post that has already been edited by a moderator (a mod's decision is final). You may not bait, insult, flame, or otherwise abuse a moderator; mods are here to make the forum a better place for everyone. If you have a problem with the moderation, please contact that mod or the TechPB Staff with your concerns (we take them seriously).

Questionable Content
These are public boards, so act like you would if you were in a public place. These issues are left to the discretion of the individual moderators, but may include any material that is knowingly false and/or deflamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, that otherwise violates any law, or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.

Religion and Political threads are subject to closure at staff's discretion. To paraphrase Mike: "If you want religion, go to church. If you want paintball, come to TechPB. If they want to debate religion, go to liveleak.com. Fuck that, not here, not on my site. Debate religion and politics on another site that actually cares about it."

NOTE: Posting links to graphic sites - either sexual, violent or containing illegal or invasive (i.e. massive window spamming) material will get you instabanned and may get you permabanned.
